Enrollment & Lottery

Each school year we use the lottery system for enrollment of new students.  January 1 – March 31 is our
open enrollment period where families new to OACS can be placed on the lottery list for the upcoming
school year.  The following priority order is used in the lottery: siblings, Oakland residents, employee
children, OACS Pre-K, non-Oakland Orange County residents. The lottery is held early April and by
mid-April we contact families with the results.  If your child is not pulled to fill an empty seat, he/she will
be placed on the waitlist.  Our waitlist is active throughout the school year and does not roll over from
year to year. Students can enroll anytime during the current school year if seats are available, if we are
full you can be placed on the waitlist if you choose.

Once your child is enrolled at OACS, he/she will be enrolled the following year as long as you complete
the re-enrollment form, complete the required volunteer hours by the deadline date and pay any
outstanding monies due (lunch account, lost books, NSF fees, etc.)
