Families with 1 child must volunteer a minimum of 20 hours per school year. Families with 2 or more children must volunteer a minimum of 30 hours per school year.
In order to re-enroll each year, volunteer hours need to be completed by the yearly deadline date. May 1st for 5th graders. May 15th for K thru 4th.
As of January 2012 all hours will be entered into HelpCounter by school office or PTO volunteer chair. Make sure your hours are accounted for by doing the following: On campus.... sign in on the front office computer. Make a donation....submit tracking form with receipt attached. Attend a PTO meeting, SAC meeting or field trip...be sure to sign the sign-in sheet. Have a teacher conference...complete a tracking form. Volunteer from home...complete tracking form and return to teacher. Staff snacks/baked goods...sign the sign-in sheet in front office.

Volunteer Opportunities include:
School Day Activities Assist in the Cafeteria Hours Available: 10:45 AM – 1:00 PM (any day, no appointment needed) Assist with Kiss and Go Hours Available: 8:00 AM – 8:30 AM (any day, no appointment needed) Assist Classroom Teacher By Appointment only - contact teacher to schedule Field Trip Chaperone As needed based on individual field trip (all parents attending will receive hours)
Work from Home Teachers may have work you can do at home. If you are interested in this option contact your child's teacher for more information. Remember to complete a Tracking Form and return with your project.
Meetings Receive 2 hours for attending any PTO Meeting, SAC Meeting or Parent/Teacher Conference.
Donations Every $10 equals 1 volunteer hour. You may earn up to 10 hours (receipts must be submitted) Examples: Classroom Wish List items, Clinic items, Art Supplies, Coffee cabinet items.
PTO Fund-Raisers and Events PTO organizes Fund-Raisers and various events throughout the school year. For these events to be successful they need your help! This is a great way to get involved and support OACS.
